  • Brightbytes Technology Survey

Burleson ISD is partnering with BrightBytes, an educational software company, to learn more about our District’s technology use for student learning. Our goal is to gather data from all key stakeholders on technology access and skills, and on our district’s technology environment, in order to understand the connection between technology use and student achievement.  Your participation is important to us and will make the difference between having a complete versus a limited understanding of our district’s technology use.  We are asking students, teachers and parents to participate in the project to help us gather this valuable data.  Please CLICK HERE to go to the BHS survey page.  Thank you!

  • Exemption Time Is Here!

Students may pick up exemption forms from House offices beginning Wednesday, May 17th.  Students may turn in forms to the House offices beginning Thursday, May 18th and until 4:15 p.m. on Monday, May 22nd.  Students should pick up forms during passing periods or before/after lunch, not during classes.  Each grade level will have a different color form that has the maximum amount of exemptions possible for each grade level: 9th = 1; 10th = 2; 11th = 3; 12th = 4.

Also, NEW FOR THIS YEAR: If a student has an unexcused absence for ANY SUCCESS+ period, that student may not exempt ANY exam at all, regardless of other criteria.

Any student who is enrolled in an AP Class and did not take the exam MUST take a final exam in the class.

Guidelines are listed at the top of the student forms. Reminder: students must have an 80 or above for the semester average and no more than 2 absences for that class.

All Excused (A) & Unexcused (U) absences count. (D12=UIL, T=Tardy, M33= College Visit, M20= Religious  D10=Field Trip (and funerals) do not count against their exemptions.

Students are required to attend classes in which they are exempt on examination days. An exemption is an exam exemption and not an attendance exemption.  If a student is absent on exam day, that absence does count against exemptions.
