  • AP Exam Fees

    Dear BHS Parents and Students,

Taking the Advanced Placement exam is an important part of all AP courses. Scoring well on an AP exam can earn students college credit for their high school class, saving a significant amount on tuition.

This year the College Board cost for AP exams is $93.00 per exam. BISD and BHS will be contributing to reduce the cost for students. For students enrolled in more than three courses where they are taking an exam, Burleson High School will pay for all exams after the first three. If a student qualifies for the free or reduced lunch program, the exam fee will be reduced more. Please see the chart below for specific amounts.

    2016-2017 Regular Exam Fee

    1 Exam = $63.00

    2 Exams = $126.00

    3 Exams = $189.00

    2016-2017 Free/Reduced Lunch Exam Fee

    1 Exam = $15.00

    2 Exams = $30.00

    3 Exams = $45.00

For 2017 AP exams, registration will begin February 5th and end February 9th. Registration will be completed online through Total Registration. The registration link and additional details will be sent in January, but we wanted to send the fees in advance to give families plenty of time to plan financially.

  • Swim Meet Results

img_0036BHS competed in a dual meet against Mansfield’s Timberview and Summit on November 8. Burleson swam against Mansfield Timberview Tuesday night, and had a great meet. Both the boys’ team and the girls’ team finished in first place over Timberview. The girls scored 138 points to Timberview’s 84. The boys scored 163 points to Timberview’s 87. They simultaneously were competing against Mansfield Summit. In that match-up, the teams finished second. Girls scored 115 to Summit’s 127. The boys barely missed beating Summit, scoring 134 to their 137.

We had two new school records set: Aaliyah Young set a new record in the 200 IM. James Miller set a new record in the 500 free. We currently have all of our varsity swimmers qualified to swim in individual events at the Thanksgiving Frisco meet, and four JV swimmers as well. When we include the relays, 23 out of 29 swimmers qualified to go. We are having a great year!
